Design Remix
The set of six posters was created over the span of ten weeks. This project aimed to create a series of posters for an exhibition given by a speaker at a museum of our choosing. The content within the posters was inspired by artists during a specific art movement studied within the chapters we covered in class. Through visual and textual research, I created a poster campaign influenced by each chosen highlighted artist's style and design characteristics and styles used during their respective movement.
I chose Natasha Jen, from the company Pentagram, as the speaker for the lecture series and the Carnegie Museum of Art, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as the location. The title of the series, "Authorship", came from a quote by Jen, and the subjects of each poster are popular icons and figures seen throughout the city of Pittsburgh.
