Pittsburgh Penguins Internship

During my internship with the Pittsburgh Penguins, I had the opportunity to create a wide range of projects. Some of the projects involved updating existing layouts with new information and imagery to be used for future games, while other projects allowed me to be more creative and come up with my own designs while still staying true to the Penguins' brand and the project requirements. I had a great experience working with the Penguins' graphic design team and learned a lot about sports design. It was exciting knowing that the projects I had worked on would be seen by thousands of fans on game nights!

2024-2025 Media Guide Cover

Created With: Adobe Photoshop

To celebrate team captain, Sidney Crosby's, 20th season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, the 2024-2025 media guide features a collage of images of Crosby from important moments from his career. It was created with image cut outs of Crosby and different widgets from the current campaign guide.

Reading Bookmarks

Created With: Adobe Photoshop

A series of bookmarks designed for children to use. The players were already decided upon and I was tasked with designing the layout of each bookmark by utilizing the team's design assests.

Dasher Boards

Created With: Adobe Illustrator

A set of four dasher board graphics placed on the rink for season pass holders to take their holiday photos in front of. I was given the headline for each board and had complete creative liberty to create fun holiday graphics.

Authentics Social Graphics

Created With: Adobe Photoshop

A set of social media posts (Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook) advertising Authentics' Black Friday Sale on featured Penguins' gear. After I was given the product images and copy, I arranged the information to represent each type of post layout best. I also included the wreath graphic to tie into the holiday messaging associated with Black Friday Sales.

Group Ticket Sale PDFs

Created With: Adobe InDesign

A series of informational digital flyers for group ticket sales, intended to inform fans about special, themed giveway game nights throughout the season.

Intern Presentation - Walk of Fame

At the beginning of the internship, the interns were placed into groups to work together on a project. The projects were presented at the end of the internship to a row of judges, different managers within the company, to decide a "winner" amongst the teams. The purpose of the project was to create a new fan experience to increase ticket sales.

My group, with 5 other interns', topic was to create an unforgettable in-area experience. Our idea was to convert the FNB Gate, one of the existing entrances to the arena, into an interactive Walk of Fame experience for fans to pay tribute to the Penguins' greatest players. Our vision of the space included different interactive spots, visual displays, and a bar. I was put in charge of designing the logo of the Pittsburgh Penguins Walk of Fame as well as some of the informational slides.

After presenting to the row of judges, my team won first place. The final presentation is attached.

As of October 25, 2025, the Pittsburgh Penguins have a Hall of Fame area within PNC Park to celebrate their legendary players throughout the years. They incorporated details and ideas inspired by my team’s project, as well as using the drink menu at an employee gathering a month before the Hall of Fame’s official open date.

Below are images of the Hall of Fame, taken from the Pittsburgh Penguins’ official website.
